Lucky Sardine Wine

Portugal has 250 grape varieties. Our first wines are called Vinho Verde, which means "green," but not green in color, but "young and fresh." You will also notice there is a number "1" on the bottle. This signifies our FIRST HARVEST, which was in 2024. The long neck on the bottle is also a TRADITIONAL VINHO VERDE BOTTLE.

Vinho Verde

Vinho Verde is a unique style of Portuguese wine that originates from the Minho region in the northwest of Portugal. The term "Vinho Verde" translates to "green wine," but it actually refers to the youthfulness of the wine rather than its color. Vinho Verde wines are known for their fresh, vibrant, and slightly effervescent character, making them a popular choice, especially in warmer months.

Characteristics
Color: Vinho Verde can be white, red, or rosé, but the white variety is the most common and well-known internationally.
Flavor Profile: White Vinho Verde typically has a crisp, citrusy, and sometimes slightly floral flavor, with notes of green apple, lime, and sometimes a subtle mineral quality. The wine often has a slight fizz or effervescence, which adds to its refreshing nature.
Alcohol Content: It is generally light in alcohol, often around 9-11%, making it an easy-drinking option.
Acidity: High acidity is a key characteristic, contributing to its refreshing quality.

Grape Varieties
Vinho Verde is made from a variety of indigenous Portuguese grape varieties. For white Vinho Verde, common grapes include Loureiro, Trajadura, and Arinto. The red and rosé versions use grapes like Vinhão and Amaral.
